Sabudana Idli Recipe | How to make instant Sabudana (sago) Idli | Healthy Breakfast | In Hindi



You must have heard of sabudana khichadi, tikki or kheer. But have to ever tried making Idli with these little white pearls called sago or sabudana. Sabudana Idli is a very unique dish that will definitely appeal to your taste buds. Very healthy and nutritious these soft and spongy idlis are ideal for breakfast as they gives you feeling of fullness.

Ingredients to make sabudana/sago Idli :-
1/2 cup sabudana/sago/tropics pearl
3/4 Cup semolina/ sooji
1 cup curd/Dahi
Salt to taste
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp spice mix
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp chana Dal/ masoor dal/cashew nuts
1 tsp olive oil
Some curry Leaves
1 tsp eno / fruit salt
Water as required

Method to make sago/ Sabudana Idli :-

Soak sabudana in water overnight. Water should be enough just to cover the sabudana not more than that.
Next morning in a large bowl combine sooji with curd and let it rest for 15 minutes to half an hour.
After resting add soaked sabudana mix all the spices and water
Prepare tempering:- In a pan heat 1 tsp oil add mustard, curry Leaves and chana Dal
Add the tempering to the batter
Now I a small bowl add eno with small amount of water and gently mix the bubbled water with batter.
Immediately transfer the batter into greased Idli tray.
Put the tray into the steamer with boiling water.
Cover it with a lid and let it cook for 8-9 minutes.
Once cooked let the Idli tray stand in the steamer for few more minutes. Than take out the tray
Once cool, demould the idlis from the tray and serve them warm with your favourite Chutney.
You can also eat that for snack or lunch.
