Mens Sana In Corpore Sana

The IPA IPSO RELATION COMMITTEE is pleased to welcome this inspiring video by our IPSO colleagues!

This year, a very special IPSO Meeting “Mens sana in corpore sano” took place in the beautiful landscape of Italian Montains, on the 24th of June, 2016.

What would you think of trekking on the mountains and discussing psychoanalysis?

We believe this event, along with the light motive THINKING OUT OF THE BOX WITH IPSO, beautifully portrays how younger generations of psychoanalysts very well embody (!!) a great psychoanalytic contemporary lesson, such as:
• do not forget the outside world
• do not forget we (all of us, patients and psychoanalysts!) have a body and libidinal needs to cultivate (the pleasure principal)
• how deeply our minds and thinking are rooted into those above
• integrate tradition with innovation (from the Freud’s excursion in the mountains where he met one of his first patient, Kathrina, after an aesthetic experience to nowadays and the creation of a new congress experience as: morning walks, hiking, exercise and shared experience of beauty and senses, afternoon clinical sessions and more).
