Each year ethics officials and other reviewers in the executive branch review and certify more than 300,000 confidential financial disclosure reports to prevent conflicts of interest and other ethics concerns. In this three part massive open online course (MOOC), IEG instructors will introduce you to the basic laws and regulations encountered in financial disclosure review, walk you through the review process, and give you opportunities to practice the skills that you have learned.
The class consists of three sessions. The first online session on Monday, January 26 will be an overview of the review process, an introduction to the authorities you will encounter, and instructions for an exercise. You will then have a day to complete the first of two exercises. We will meet again (virtually) on Wednesday, January 28th to debrief the first exercise and introduce the second. We will meet (virtually) for a final time on Thursday, January 29th to debrief the second exercise.
